Care for you

Welcome

Thanks for connecting with us! If you have landed here on our page, chances are that you know that moving and living cross-culturally is a unique and intense experience. Sometimes having a little extra support in this season of change is all we need. You have access to the care you need whether it is transition coaching or mental health concerns; we are here to help. If you are a parent or a Third-culture/Cross-Cultural kid, you don’t need to do this alone, we are better together. Let us know how we can come alongside you, whether to assist in your successful and healthy transition, or to help you adjust and thrive in the place you live now.

Transition Coaching

Transition is an ongoing part of life but few transitions impact as many facets of a person’s life as a move across the world. This significant shift has additional layers of complication and is difficult in a unique way. Though all families feel the stress of this massive change, no two families navigate it in the same way. YouthCompass offers additional support and ongoing care to help in these difficult times. We can assist in helping to create sustainable plans for success in this type of move for every member of the family. We are able to help with culture shock, transition stress, creation of care plans, clinical mental health consultations and other services to inspire our families to thrive instead of merely surviving as they live cross-culturally.

Mental Health Support

Transition and living cross-culturally can definitely take a toll on our mental health. There are so many unknowns and the predictable pieces of our lives are often disrupted. We may not react the way we used to and we may not know why. We may be feeling down or disconnected and too tired to just try more. Life is just harder when we live outside of the normal patterns, people and places we have come to rely on. Moving from where we used to belong to a new sense of belonging takes energy and time but sometimes it feels too hard to do alone. We want to intentionally walk with you and help you evaluate what your needs are in this period of change and intensity. Some will just need someone to help them create a care plan to tackle things while others may need a higher level of care. It is hard to know sometimes where we fall on that spectrum. We want you to know that it’s o.k. to not be o.k. YouthCompass has a therapist on staff to help you discern your next steps.
